Once inside the park proceed to the rotary and take first right towards West Beach. West Beach is a long beach with a full length boardwalk. Cottage Grove Jr. H.S./Grey Cloud Elem. School/Kingston Park Cottage Grove, MN, US

  • Submitted by: Bradley Klages
  • The combined athletic fields of Cottage Grove Junior High, Grey Cloud Elementary School and Kingston Park make up one of the largest playfields in the Twin Cities metro area. Several baseball, soccer and football fields make up the athletic complex. There are minimal backfences and trees to deal with. The fields are used by local kite fliers for traction kiting, multi-line and single line flying. There is a small hill about 10-12 feet high at one end of the field that breaks the mostly level playing fields. But it doesn't impede the movement of traction kiters who love to scale it while cruising from one end to the other. Our recommended day to fly is on Sundays when there's a breeze. (Saturday's are for school sports. Sundays are for kite flying.)
  • Single Line Kites, Sport Kites, and Kite Buggying are allowed and appropriate.
  • Directions: From I-94 in Woodbury, exit at Keats Avenue (Co. Rd. 19) and go south approx. 7 1/2 miles to Indian Blvd. Turn right at Indian Blvd. and go west approx. 1/4 mile to second parking lot at Grey Cloud Elementary School on the south side of the street.
