Very cool.  Google and its partners update the satellite photos so you never know what you will find.  Search your local flying area and zoom in. 

Recently, I've been searching Google Earth for kite festival locations flying fields/beaches and to my surprize, I've found a few kite festival locations that when google earth snapped photos of the areas, kites were in the photos. Sheman Township in Taiwan shows kites, Townsville, QLD, Australia shows actual kite festival pics. Coolum Beach, QLD, Australia shows kite fest pics. Weifang, Shandong, China shows kite fest pics, Weifang World Kite Museum, Weifang Kite park. Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia shows the kite museum.

You can search most any city in the world, go to street level view, and start exporing the areas where you know kite flying or festivals take place, and you'll find many kite pics that google earth cars have taken when they were driving around.
