Actually, the code was opening a new window, and your browser is set to implement this as opening a new tab.

I have changed a setting in the forum software to open in the same window/frame. See if that mitigates the issues you were having.

While the problem with "internal" links opening new windows/tabs has been fixed, now "external" links are no longer opening in new windows.

For instance in the thread "Honda Commercial for Honda Civic (2013) ??"

The link to the video is targeted to "_self" where it used to be targeted to "_blank".

Internal links now seem to lead to https://  instead of http://

All seems to be resolved now, seem solid Pete?

We'll see what we can do on that front, but it does appear that internal links are no longer spawning additional tabs or windows?

We are primarily focused on "limping along" for a short time, as a better solution for all member-based aspects of the site is being explored... While the work and thought put into this one is awe-inspiring, it is slipping more and more out of date and showing signs of break-down, without an easy way to upgrade the existing systems.

Feedback and critique is *always* welcome and will find an audience, but I must ask for your patience while we bring everything "up to snuff".

The forum software was updated to v4.10 (from 4.06) on 8 Feb 2013.

Please monitor this new software and see if it behaves as you expect.

External links still open in the same window.
