THe  next issue of Kiting has an important announcement regarding the 2011 NKM poster contest. The official announcement will be in Kiting but at an advanced peek I can say that the winner will be rewarded and leave alot of people wondering why they did not send in an entry. Sign on the theNKM site to get an idea of what the poster is used for and and start digging thru your pictures and putting your thoughs together. From hand drawn to favorite photos everyone has a chance to win the big prize. You might also win the wildcard prize just for being the lucky entry. The deadline is January 15 but in the Christmas rush you may loose track so submit your ideas now.

The official announcement will be in the next issue of Kiting but I can give you the inside story. Just as we have done in the past the program uses full weeks to define the month. This year the Sat start is on March 27th and the final day is Sunday May 1st. Of course any day is a good time to promote kiting but as a reminder to our members we stress Kite Related Activities during NKM. This year was want to make sure that we ask interested parties to join us by having members help sign them up to receive all of our benifits and to Join in on the fun officially. The Board of Directors and the NKM Committee will be working out the final details of some new programs for this year so keep watching for the announcements here and in Kiting Magazine. The NKM site is available all year long with information on kiting and it will be updated for next years Program the end of December. We hope to have alot more information available at that time to assist teachers and the public with thier kite workshops and related programs. Thanks, it is never too early to start planning. I was working on the South Jersey Kite Flyers calendar for the year and wanted to include the dates.

I booked my 4th grade kite workshop yesterday with the school for April 4th. This year we'll have 91 kids making and flying kites I'm pretty sure this is my 8th year doing it. I'll have to check with the school and see if I'm right.

I doubled checked and it is my 8th year in a row making kites with the 4th grade kids. I registered my event today on the AKA website and  I'm looking forward to having fun with the kids again. Next year my 1st class will be graduating High School how time fly's
