Having trouble with the forum
Why can I not post in the "Kites In The News" area of the forum?
Also, what happened to all of the posts from before the changeover? Are they still accessible somewhere or are they gone?

Re: Having trouble with the forum
We'll look into the 'Kites In The News' issue.
The old forum posts were managed by an older version of the Blah! package that had not been upgraded. At this hour, the old posts are not publicly accessible.

Re: Having trouble with the forum
I tried to edit my profile after signing in. I then submit my changes, then an error box pops up stating that my email address is already in use. I tried again by having a new password sent, then I logged in again, same problem.
??????
Apparently, my OLD phone number is still on my profile, but the correct one is on my Rocky Mountain Kite Association listing under Regional Resources

Seems to be a general problem for me too. I tried to updating the banner text, username, and password and have been getting the same errors.

Re: Having trouble with the forum
I think I read somewhere that the "email in use" problem may happen when a single email address is shared by two (or more) members of the same family. You might check whether this is the problem in your case. Each member and additional family members must have their own email address. I think I also read that this was to prevent certain security problems.

Re: Having trouble with the forum
Not a lot of trouble with the forum. It is highly improved, and user friendly over the old one.
However I have noticed when making a post, if I review it, and go back to post....it has vanished. I have to retype everything again, and then post.
Is it a problem with the forum, or a problem with my procedure?

Re: Having trouble with the forum
Ahh, the trick is: Don't try to go back. Just close the preview window by clicking on the "X". That should drop you back into the composition window with your existing text still in place. You can do some more editing, or click on the "Submit" button.
Going "Back" takes you to the page before you started entering text, which is why there is no text there.

Re: Having trouble with the forum
The Preview Window is not a new web page, but a portion of the current page being superimposed over the main part of the current page. For html weenies, this is a div with position=absolute and a different css style applied. Hitting the Back button on a browser takes you to the previous web page, which as Pete mentioned is not the same as closing the Preview Window.
