Chicken
Not a kite building project, but a kite is necessary to help him stand up.
I made him from a kite building workshop in Canada. I live in Kansas, but have a long distance relationship with them.
This guy has seen a LOT of people, and everyone seems to like him. He was out in winds that were to strong, so he is having some trouble with head/neck attachment. I need to take him in to do some surgery.
You may click the image to see the entire picture. NOTE, that is NOT me in the photo. I just included him to show the scale of the chicken.

Re: Chicken
I like it! How did you get the marks on the grey fabric? How long did it take to make?
You just got to ignite the light and let it shine.

Re: Chicken
From the agle of the picture it looks like thier is a pucker under the tail.
It reminds me of the Al Sparling Meenie story. He had just started to fly it when someone asked what happened to the tail. He said what tail as they stuck thier arm in the pucker and pulled it out. Seems they did not finish turning it right side out at the factory..
What did you think that was AL was the question for the day..
Great item...and how did you get the material colored...?

Re: Chicken
The pucker under the tail is a scale version of what is under a real chicken's tail.
Actually it is where all the segments come together. Maybe poor craftsmanship?
The grey material was marked with wide tip, permanent ink, poster felt tip marker.
I did not think I wanted a solid grey chicken. I guess it is now a Plymouthrock breed, sort of....
It came to me with the pieces already cut, so it took only a couple partial days to complete.
No plans, it was a kit from a kitebuilding workshop presented by the WindClimbers club in Canada.
I did make a copy for templates to make another. However, it has been a couple years now, and the project has come to a halt. Lack of enough red material. Lack of enough $$ to buy some. Oh well.
I may be the most distant member of the club.
