ditto... I used to be able to make the green button go away with "Mark forum as read", but now... not.  Not a complaint, just a... "huh?

Select "Index", then "Topic View".  Use the Topic Tools "Mark Topics Read"

Well that didn't work out all that well.    Went to Index > Topic view > Topic Tools > Mark Topics Read.  Found that to be quite different from going to the Forum View > entering a forum > Forum Tools > Mark This Forum Read.  The first option does a fine job of marking all the topics read.  The second, Mark This Forum Read, option still doesn’t mark the forum read,  Unless I’m missing something you still have to enter the specific forum then leave it to get the forum to be marked as read.  Perhaps I’m just missing something.  For me it would be handy to have this capability.
