Time Stamp on Posts
Am I the only one whose time stamp is not even close to the time I post in the forums? I could understand if it was off am/pm or synch'd to Pacific time. But it isn't. It appears to be set to Greenwich Mean Time.
It is currently 0815, 2/9/2011.
Back for edit. The time stamp was "Today 13:16:50". Is this me or the forum? Can I change/set something to get it right?

Re: Time Stamp on Posts
It's not just you. I see post times in GMT as well.

Re: Time Stamp on Posts
The server for this site is currently located in Houston, TX. The site software is set to Central Time Zone. The Forum does not have its own time zone settings.
The displayed times depends on whether you are logged in or not...

Re: Time Stamp on Posts
I guess I am kind of slow. I don't understand your response.
I was logged in when I made the original post in this thread. The time stamp I am seeing (logged in) is 5 hours LATER than the time I posted it (GMT), not 1 hour EARLIER that I would see if it was based on the difference between Eastern and Central time zones.
I am curious what time others are seeing in my original post. It was 08:15 AM Eastern when I made it (and yes my system date/time is correct), but the time stamp I see is 13:16:50. Are you seeing something different?

Re: Time Stamp on Posts
I see 5:16:50 Yesterday (2/9/11) on your original.
I see 14:21:54 Today (2/10/11) on this last post.
My computer displays the time as PST for all posts, although I am actually in the Eastern time zone. I think the forum software reads something from the individual's connection to determine what time to show. I am suspecting that it depends on the internet node that the http request for the web page comes from. As a Comcast user myself, I suspect that my internet traffic is routed through California on Comcast's computers before it is sent out to the Houston, TX server over the general internet. (All my incoming emails are certainly routed through Emeryville, CA.)
Maybe we could note who our ISPs are, along with the time offset to see if there is a correlation.
