New To Kiting and looking for someone to fly with in Long Island!
Ok The Subject says it all. I am in Franklin Square and just got a new 4-D Superlight. I flew it once on Jones Beach Field 6 but no one else was there. Looking for people to fly with so I may learn how to fly it and not just crash it. Also if you know of any other good places to fly that would be great to know of.

Liberty State Park has flyers on the weekends religiously. Great place for the whole family....

Try posting in Region 2 and in Dual line kites, more locals may see it.
That's all I have, hope it helps.

Re: New To Kiting and looking for someone to fly with in Long Island!
What made me go with the 4d was I really liked the way it looked to be honest. Also I was able to see what it was retailing for, So at the auction i knew what I was going to Bid on it. There was a few other nice stunt kites that were bid on but 1 I dropped out of to let a guy i was with win another was higher then i wanted to go. Wish i knew more about kites when i was bidding i would have gone in after more of them at the prices they went for. I ended up paying $80 for a $100 Kite. lol The others before this one went from $35 - $55.
We also got a Slingshot Power kite for $35 It is missing the lines but i assume i can find somewhere on the internet to buy lines.

Re: New To Kiting and looking for someone to fly with in Long Island!
It's funny how close Liberty State Park is, but what a nightmare it is to get to for people on Long Island. It's only ~60 miles from me, but would take almost 3 hours to get there... not to mention almost $30 in tolls. Looks like a great place to fly, but I've never been there. If it were a kite festival instead of a competition, I would probably go.
I go the other way, Hamonassett and Newport are some places that I've caught up with other fliers.
If you're thinking of going to Jersey, head for the BIG destination... Wildwood ! Fun for the whole family, tons of stuff to do. I hear there's some sort of big kiting event there later this year... 8)
