Gary and Ray, from Region 5, have been great. They have taken the time to drive to the Thumb of Michigan's Village of Port Sanilac to check out the proposed site, wind, and safety concerns. They have suggested that we move the festival to twenty acres a few blocks up from the beach. I was able to secure this site, receive AKA sanctioning
insurance, and lots of great ideas. The kites Festival will be at St. Mary's Church. Parking is on site. The Youth Group will be serving lunch for a small donation. Kite Surfing will still be at the beach with free camping across from the lighthouse. There is also a large paved area behind the Fire Hall for R.V.'s. Porta Potties will be placed at both sites as well as public rest rooms. The beach is awesome for swimming and Lake Huron is beautiful! That night there will be a multi band concert from 7 - 10:00 pm.. We will also be having a Corn Roast during the concert. Please email me at smdebus@comcast.net for more info. [size=18][/size]

Well, there is only a chance of rain during the day but the wind is going to be up. The concert and corn roast are still a GO with a major tent already up! Hoping you will make it! Susan

Nice to see you there.
A nice place to fly. Not a lot of people this year; maybe the weather looked too bad. Outside of being hot (which wrecked me), it was not too bad. The wind was a bit flukey, but we had no rain on the site while I was there.
You folks that didn't make it might want to be sure to get there next year.
