Re: 34th Convention in Wildwood
Thank you, Phil.
I know its not your responsibility but why can't the AKA main website Home page be updated to show Convention news, etc..
Here we are 5 days after Convention and still no update or conveyance of general information on the opening page saying anything about Convention.

Re: 34th Convention in Wildwood
Hi Thommcadms, Yes the home page will be updated very soon. The Administrater is waiting for pictures and stories to post. Please understand we are all volunteers that have been away from home for a week and have personal things to catch up with first. Compitetion results will be posted, awards listed along with stories about the happenings. The next presidents news letter will have additional information. Thanks for coming here to find out what's going on with the AKA,

Good point Thom...
It was probably because the webmaster himself was either photographing, or competing, or participating as Regional Director for his own area! One man, one pair of hands and all that.
So many avenues for updating, and so little time spent in one's room with a computer. Know where I'd rather be... and I was!
But I did use Facebook on a daily basis to show images of what was happening through my eyes. Maybe others were too busy flying, networking, folding raffle bags, cataloguing auction items, and doing lunch runs? I know I've already seen a few personal photo albums from that week via this Forum... but maybe OTHERS are holding on in the hope of making front cover of next edition of "KITING"...?!

Re: 34th Convention in Wildwood
I can understand that it is a very busy schedule for all, but I do echo Thommcadms sentiments. Maybe I am a little spoiled with KiteLife's daily updates in the past, but at least posting the results would be nice. You can follow up with details and full coverage when you have all of it. The link to the article quoted: AKA Goals “We strive to promote public awareness..." I'm still not aware...Can you add this to the list of duties for the future?
Thanks,
Dallas

Re: 34th Convention in Wildwood
*yawn*
It's been 4 weeks and we still don't have a story, a recap, or the kitemakers results here at the AKA website. We've got links to pages with some results for sport kite and the nomination letters for the 3 major awards. Part of the picture, but dang. Whatever the circumstances, I'm disappointed.
I've had many people ask for links and stories, and all I can give them is my own personal account, which just isn't the same.
Whatever.........
I must add, when explaining the situation to my boss - who again asked me when the AKA was going to update the website with more results, ultimately prompting this comment - he described the lack of information and details as "A complete lack of Professional Courtesy." I am not pointing fingers, but I would not add that comment if I didn't agree with it.

Re: 34th Convention in Wildwood
Steve Ferrel Hey Simon, congrats again. I am sure results will be posted soon to the AKA website, and i am sure Phil will do a fine job with Kiting. If you want more info, I updated the scores on kitebuilder. Even included my "Award Banquet commentary"

(copies to facebook, kitebuilder, and AKA)
Other winners out there.... post your comments! How did you like the competition at convention this year? Tell us if you won!
