I would like to start by saying thank you for the votes of support. I would like to know each and every member of the region to better serve your needs. Please take a min to drop me a note to RD8@aka.kite.org to let me know what your kiting interests are and how I can help you.

I would like to hear from the contact person with each club to develop a local contact list. I would also like to hear from them each month to verify events in thier area and who participated along with keeping me informed about what works for them.

My main goal is to increase communication in the region. Which such a large area I will be challenged to travel to more festivals and help promote kiting in the region. Its easy to focus on the clubs and members around you but with your help I can shine a light on all of the members of the region and recognize them for all the work they do to promote kiting as a family friendly activity.

For those of you that don't know who Captain Richard is, his name is Richard Hawkins and he's from the Houston, TX area.

Richard.....perhaps you should edit your Kite Talk Forum signature to include your real name, and phone number, so the members you are now representing, know who you really are, and how to contact you. Don't assume every AKA Region 8 member knows who Capt. Richard is. current/wink

So as not to mislead...! The NEW Regional Director for Region 8 is - updated news - Troy Gunn, as approved by the Board of Directors on 25 January 2012.

I'm just trying to keep up with all the latest! - but Troy now has his finger on the pulse.
