I was wondering if there would be a use for postcards made of some of Jim's ideas.  Color post cards with black print on the back side run well under $100 USD for 1,000 cards.  What could we do with them?

If they could be helpful in any way, I am happy for any of the images to be used.  I can supply higher-resolution versions if needed, and maybe a few more ideas.  But really they were just some thoughts on what MIGHT be done, and I think a professional could produce something a great deal better.

OK, after about 6 attempts to word this just right, I'll give up and be blunt. Jim, these are fun images and great sayings. You obviously had fun doing them. Please don't sell yourself short by suggesting they are anything less than super cool.
Too often each of us stands back and says-someone else could do better, mine isn't good enough-, well, that may be true, but the reality is that we are a volunteer association and to wait until that perfect person has the time and the willingness to help means that nothing gets done.
Little ideas do make a big difference.
We're thinking the images on postcards would make good reminders for membership renewal. Sending a postcard instead of a letter saves the assocation money, and a colorful card would be more fun to receive in the mail.
How about using them for thinking of you or get well cards? Hmm, I see a market developing!

As I said before, I'm happy for any of them to be used, and I'm glad you think they could be of some use.  Maybe, as you say, amateur efforts in a volunteer organisation are appropriate.  (I must try to use one of your kites next time - I have three!)

I must say that having seen the winning poster for the National Kite Month, I am very impressed with Leena Salem's work.  That, to me, does look professional.

What a stellar idea for new AKA merchandise...

They'd be ideal for special occasions like Anniversaries, Get Well Soon, Congratulations...  I do like the thought of receiving one as a Membership Reminder, rather than a printed, sterile-looking letter.

I'd also suggest that some people might collect such postcards - mounted & framed, perhaps?

I"ve seen a couple of mentions about membership reminders.  Who gets these reminders?

Shortly, like 2 weeks, before a memberhsip expires, an email reminder is sent. Another email reminder when it expires and a final email 2 weeks later. Then a mailed reminder notice is sent.
If we do not have an email address on file, a 2 mailed reminders are sent.
The regional directors are also asked to contact members who have not renewed to touch base.

I guess I've just been too efficient these past years.  LOL

Getting started on producing some postcards from these ideas.  Jim, could you send me the hi-res versions at xd@aka.kite.org?  I am assuming that you or someone with you took the photos and that kites are ones you made or have permission to use in this manner.  Thanks for offering and for your ideas.
