Joanne M'Clary passed away yesterday evening, April 3.  Can you please let the kitting community know for us?  Several people have contacted me about updates already.

In case you are asked, the family has requested, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to either the World Kite Museum or to the San Diego Kite Club in Joanne and Charlie M'Clary's name.  The address are listed at the end of this email.

Joanne had a beautiful miniature kite collection she had collected over the years for which she was very proud of.  She and Charlie looked forward every year to the Long Beach Kite Festival where Joanne worked in the museum. There she  greeted everyone at the door giving  each  person a little history of the museum, while Charlie flew his kites. They seemed to knew everyone and were a fixture at the Festival for many years.  They were founding members of the San Diego Kite Club and very pround of there home club and all its wonderful menbers.  Joanne really hated it when her COPD progressed to the point she could no longer attend attend the monthly kite flies or meetings  She had such a wealth of information on the history San Diego Club.   After Charlie passed Joanne kept in touch with many of their friends by email. She never talked about how sick she really was so some may wonder why she has not been emailing lately.

A Memorial Fly will be held by the San Diego Kite Club. At this time I believe the date will be May 12 but have no information on the time or place and will keep you informed when I know. Our family appreciates this Kite Fly more than words can say. It is exactly what Joanne would have wanted.

We will miss her beautiful smile and laugh. She was Loved very much!
