[San Diego] Celebrate New Year’s with two days of fun in San Diego. Fighter kite competition takes place the afternoon of Dec. 31 at Mission Bay Park, just south of the Hilton. When it gets too dark at the park, we'll move on to an indoor/outdoor New Year’s Eve party at the Skryja’s house. Our 12th annual New Year’s Day Fly will feature the big kites of our special guests Dave and Susan Gomberg. Perrennial guests Ron and Sandy Gibian, Deb Lenzen, Brian Champie, John and Mary Gabby and our fun-loving gang from the northwest all contribute to making the holiday memorable. The day will include a raffle, potluck lunch, and 1- 2- and multi-line flying for all who care to join in. You can also feel free to sit back in a beach chair and watch the spectacle. Either way, come enjoy the warm, southern California climate while the rest of the kiting world stays inside or freezes their butts off!
