[Fullerton] The Kite Flying Contest is organized by Fullerton Lions Breakfast Club for the children/students, ages between 6-8, 9-11, 12-17. To be held at Cal. State Fullerton grounds near "Titan House"on April 3rd Saturday from Noon to 5.00p.m. in CA. The kite must be "Hand Made" by the student. Cannot be bought from a store or an individual. [St. George] The Dixie Escalante Kite Festival is the culmination of a three month reading program conducted within all area elementary schools. Students who have successfully completed additional reading requirements earn a free kite which they are able to receive at the kite festival. Families are welcome, there are no entry fees. Multiple food vendors will be available as well as dozens of games and rides for children of all ages. Kite competition will take place for the serious flyers.
[San Francisco] Friends and Family of Lee Toy fly on the San Francisco Marina Green to commemorate the life and times of Lee Toy, kite flier extraordinaire. From 11am to 4pm rain or shine.

[Ocean City] The 13th Annual Mid Atlantic Stunt Kite Championships returns to Ocean City, MD along with the Maryland International Kite Expo. Join hundreds of area kite fliers and east coast kite clubs for this extravaganza - great crowds, great kites and fun time! Friday kicks off with a school program for area middle school children. Friday night we have a welcome party sponsored by Go Fly A Kite at Shennanigan’s on 4th Street. On Saturday we have the Maryland Kite Makers competition at 3rd Street, and the sport kite competition at Division Street. [Springfield] The Cherry Blossom Kite Festival runs from 10-3 on April 24, sponsored by the Springfield Sister Cities Association with funding from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, and support from the Springfield Regional Arts Council and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. This is the first year for the festival, held in the beautiful Japanese Stroll Garden developed in conjunction with Springfield’s sister city in Isesaki, Japan. Come make an "art kite," fly a kite, watch a demonstration, and enter your design into competition to be judged May 1 at Artsfest on Walnut Street. This event is free thanks to CFO funding, and open to the public. All ages welcome.
