[Seal Beach] Kite Club Saturday right side of Seal Beach Pier. Bring a snack to share and lets just have allot of fun flying. (We are flying on Saturday this month because Mother Day falls on the 9th, which is the second Sunday of the month.) Lets put up a great display of kites to celebrate our wonderful mothers. Also we can each bring a dish to share for a potluck around 2 PM. Yum Yum. P.S. If it is raining then kite club Sunday will be cancelled. We will meet at the store on Main Street.

[Pismo Beach] The Sky’s The Limit Kite Shop in Pismo Beach is sponsoring a weekend of kite flying with kite expert Jeff Friend on May 8th and 9th, on the beach in beautiful Pismo Beach. Jeff will be giving hands-on demonstrations of a host of new kites including one of the latest competition kites from Skyburner Kites. It would be hard to meet a more friendly and enthusiastic kite professional. Jeff’s appearances have been described as “..the Barnum & Bailey of kite flying.” If you want to learn new stunt kite tricks, or simply refine your existing skills come fly with Jeff. There is no cost for this event and The Sky’s The Limit will be adding an additional 5% discount to your existing 10% AKA discount for any purchases you choose to make. Jeff has been flying kites all his life but got into stunt flying five years ago. He’s been entering solo and team stunt kite competitions for the last four years and is currently ranked second in precision stunt flying nationally, and third in ballet stunt flying in experienced class. He is also the captain of Team Showdown, which is a five person team that is currently nationally ranked as third in precision and second in ballet team flying. If that’s not enough, Jeff is also the captain of Team J and J, which is now ranked second in precision and second in ballet in its class, and was a guest speaker at the last year’s AKA conference in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, Jeff is the founder of Michigan’s highly successful Kites over Quincy Festival, and the owner of Michigan’s Kite and Flight shop which carries the largest kite inventory east of the Mississippi. Everyone is welcome...this will be the first kite festival in Neenah so bring all those big, bright kites and banners to show-off. There will be several flying fields. The Neenah West Community Alliance will be selling concessions 4-7:00 pm at the park shelter.
[Milwaukee] The 17th annual FAMILY KITE FESTIVAL will be held Saturday, May 15 and Sunday 16th 2004. NOW 2 days long! Sponsored by WJZI, WLUM and WMCS Radio, Gift of Wings, and the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois. Featured performers include Chicago Fire for the first time, Josh and Zack Gordon, Charlie Sotich, St. Elmos Fire, Pegasus, MR. Kite, Jim Wirt, Mike Delfar, Paul Koepke, and the kites of Yves LaForest and Anne Clement. Veterans Park from 10 am until 6 pm. and is free with plenty of free parking. The Grand Launch of 500 kites will take place at noon. Rhonda Ronsman will sing the National Anthem. This event will be shown live on the Internet! Kites and food will be sold at the festival. [Boston] What’s New and What’s HOT! The Boston Area Sport Kite Championships and Kite Festival 2004 will be held at Boston’s Millennium Park. The festival will be held on a 5 plus acre surface. There are two competition fields with the perimeters secured by a fence. The field sizes are 275 ft. x 275 ft. The park is 220 above sea level with unobstructed views in all directions, easy access and ample parking. As the Boston Bean Pot trophies were so popular, they have returned to adorn competitor’s shelves. The Boston Banquet and Auction will have many, many great items for the kite pilot! Don’t be left out, get your tickets early. Do you fly indoors? There will be a Indoor competition… So sign up early. Terry Murray, "The Kitebus" of the Richmond Air Force Kite Club will travel from Virginia to be the announcer for Boston 2004. On Sunday, the "Hot Trick’s Shoot-out" takes place, so bring your western style of kite flying. And the ever-popular "Rev Mania" will challenge all quad-line pilots... Stay tuned ...
         
[Galesburg] The 2nd Annual Kites Over Lake Storey is a 2 day FREE event with an evening Firework display held on Saturday, June 5th at sunset. This awesome firework display is called Nite Lites & Kites. There were approximately 1,000 or more individuals who did attend our fabulous funfilled weekend event in year 2003. Our event includes: workshops, games, displays, kite lessons, a candy drop, kite vendors, silent auctions and much more. Oh yeah! ...we have cookouts daily and great gifts and prizes for all who attend! Also, don’t forget about our beautiful Lake Storey Park where the event will be held. Lake Storey Park has a play area for children of all ages, hiking trails, a campground (for those of you who enjoy camping), a great lake to take a dip in, canoes, paddle boats or Jon boats to rent and cruise around the lake and Yes! ...the water slide too! Lake Storey is a 411-acre beatiful recreational experience, which is unique in providing the best recreational adventure to all its guests! Kites Over Lake Storey 2004 welcomes EVERYONE!!!
