[Wildwood] Four days of fun and sun - with more kites than you can imagine! Join South Jersey Kite Flyers, Lehigh Valley Kite Society, High Spirits and all the other east coast kite clubs in one of the largest kite festivals in the world. Kite Buggys, Kite Boarding, Indoor kite flying, Giant Kites, Kite workshops, Kite sales, Demonstrations and Exhibits indoors and out, and the 19th Annual East Coast Stunt Kite Championships! You won't know which way to turn. Join us on Frida for the Welcome Barbecue hosted by the SJKF and our annual Nite Fly and Fireworks. There is an auction on Saturday night and a banquet on Sunday night!
     
[Topeka] This will be AKA sanctioned event with all competition that competitors dictate. Fun Fly, night fly Friday night, indoor fly Saturday evening, buggy comp. kite store and auction which proceeds go to American Diabetes Association.
       
[Boston] What’s New and What’s HOT! The Boston Area Sport Kite Championships and Kite Festival 2004 will be held at Boston’s Millennium Park. The festival will be held on a 5 plus acre surface. There are two competition fields with the perimeters secured by a fence. The field sizes are 275 ft. x 275 ft. The park is 220 above sea level with unobstructed views in all directions, easy access and ample parking. As the Boston Bean Pot trophies were so popular, they have returned to adorn competitor’s shelves. The Boston Banquet and Auction will have many, many great items for the kite pilot! Don’t be left out, get your tickets early. Do you fly indoors? There will be a Indoor competition… So sign up early. Terry Murray, "The Kitebus" of the Richmond Air Force Kite Club will travel from Virginia to be the announcer for Boston 2004. On Sunday, the "Hot Trick’s Shoot-out" takes place, so bring your western style of kite flying. And the ever-popular "Rev Mania" will challenge all quad-line pilots... Stay tuned ...
         
[Galesburg] The 2nd Annual Kites Over Lake Storey is a 2 day FREE event with an evening Firework display held on Saturday, June 5th at sunset. This awesome firework display is called Nite Lites & Kites. There were approximately 1,000 or more individuals who did attend our fabulous funfilled weekend event in year 2003. Our event includes: workshops, games, displays, kite lessons, a candy drop, kite vendors, silent auctions and much more. Oh yeah! ...we have cookouts daily and great gifts and prizes for all who attend! Also, don’t forget about our beautiful Lake Storey Park where the event will be held. Lake Storey Park has a play area for children of all ages, hiking trails, a campground (for those of you who enjoy camping), a great lake to take a dip in, canoes, paddle boats or Jon boats to rent and cruise around the lake and Yes! ...the water slide too! Lake Storey is a 411-acre beatiful recreational experience, which is unique in providing the best recreational adventure to all its guests! Kites Over Lake Storey 2004 welcomes EVERYONE!!! [Albuquerque] This is our second annual event and and marks the beginning of the annual !Traditions! Wind Festival, a three month display of wind scultures from artists around the world. The !Traditions! Complex is located midway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe New Mexico. This historic area is home to a number of Native American Pueblos and is rich in both history and beauty. This years event will feature a number of different programs including an historic display of old Japanese Kites placed by the Drachen Foundation. [Junction] The Junction Kite Retreat is a long-standing tradition of kite-making classes and kite flying at the beautiful location of TTU Center at Junction, Texas. Huge flying field, plenty of classes, dorm-style housing and meals provided. Cost: $200 per participant.

[Nags Head] FROM A KITCHEN CURTAIN TO A FLYING MAN ANNUAL ROGALLO KITE FESTIVAL CELBRATES OVER 30 YEARS OF PERSONAL FLIGHT NAGS HEAD, NC – From an inventor’s dream to a flying reality, personal flight has completed a metamorphosis from a kite to modern day hang glider on the soft sands of the Outer Banks. To celebrate this innovation Kitty Hawk Kites, in conjunction with the Outer Banks Tourist Bureau are sponsoring a the annual Rogallo Kite Festival at Jockey’s Ridge State Park June 10th thru 12th from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00PM. This free family friendly event will revel in the engineering feat of 92 year old inventor Dr. Francis Rogallo with 100 foot specialty kites, children’s kite making, history exhibits, and more. The 2004 Rogallo Kite Festival host 3 fun filled days of aviation inspired celebrations. Each day will include family fun kite activities on the Dunes of Jockey’s Ridge and in our exhibitor tents at Kitty Hawk Kites’ flagship store in Nags Head. Highlights include: over 30 giant specilty kites, Rogallo wing history exhibits, hang gliding demonstrations, international kite flyers, and a kite arch made by elementary school students from across Eastern North Carolina and Southern Virginia. When the sun goes down the party still goes on with three nights of fun. It all starts with the famous Rogallo Foundation charity Kite auction to benefit aviation education hosted by Premier Kites and the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce. Then on Friday Night Kitty Hawk Kites turns 30 come eat a piece of our Birthday cake and enjoy the sounds of local musicians. To end the celebration on Sunday night there will be a world premier of the Rogallo documentary on the Dunes of Jockey’s ridge at 7:30 PM. Kitty Hawk Kites, the largest kite retailer on the East Coast, specializing in kites, toys, unique t-shirts and gifts. [Jamestown] The Jamestown Kite Festival is two full days of kite flying. With flyers attending from several states and Canada. This year we will have Dave & Susan Gomberg, Al Sparling, Jerry Houk, Barb Meyer, Deb Lenzen, Don Murphy and several others. June 12 being the main fly with DJ services and full concessions. Sunday we will have a fun fly at The Wings On Strings Flying Field, with permanent tie downs and a no dog sign! The kite art exhibit will be held at the "Bunker". We will be featuring kites from several kite builders. This will also be the location of the Sat night get together.
         
[Varennes] Vent D’Ékinox presents FreeFly 2003 june 12-13 ,2004 This event kicks off the 2004 summer season. Normand Girard (AKA member) and owner of Vent D'Ekinox (VDE) is happy to sponser the FreeFly 2004 event, Normand Girard will be the official AKA Chairperson for this event, the FQCV (AKA affiliated member,Federation Quebecoise du Cerf-Volant) will help out by supplying AKA members to provide the security requirements of the AKA for obtaining the AKA Sanctioned status and insurance required by the City of Varennes, Quebec, Canada. . By having a festival at the beginning of the summer, New fliers will have the opprotunity to meet up with the experienced ones, thus creating an evironment where the experienced fliers can pass on their knowledge. Its also a good time, to discuss the upcoming events, and make arrangements to attend them. The majority of One Line fliers in Quebec, build their own kites. So this festival is also a venue for exchanging information on all facets of kite design, construction and stimulates creativity. The FQCV will also organise a Rokakku and Fighterkite competition. The site which is approximately 2000' long and 500' wide, and will be divided into 3 fields, field orientation will depend on wind direction. field 1 is reserved for Vent D'Ekinox, for their Kite Demo tryouts field 2 and 3 will be used mainly for Free Flying, but field 3 will be reserved for Rokakku and Fighterkite competitions. [Holly Beach] The Beach Front Development Committee in conjunction with The Holly Beach Improvement Group is putting on The Cajun Riviera Beach Festival to celebrate the restoration of a substantial portion of eroded beach. This will be a one-day event. The Holly Beach Improvement Group will be hosting the Kite Fly. Awards will be given for kites flying in several categories. All interested kite enthusiast are asked to contact Kathy Richard (Email or phone) to let her know you will attend.
[Columbus] A Kitefly for all types of kites and kiteflying in the Columbus Ohio Area. The Monthly fly is from 10 AM to 5 PM on the Second Sunday and Fourth Saturday of every month. These monthly flys are promoted and supervised by the Columbus Kiters.
         
[Rockport,] A day at the beach with numerous families of Down Syndrome kids, the organizers are hosting these families and providing them with a little time and the opportunity to enjoy themselves. Kayaking experiences are being provided in the AM, and the afternoon is time for kite flying, We will be making our infamous "Kids Kite Korner" and in short showing these families some of the joys of the sport of kite flying. This is an individually funded event for the sole benefit of the families who are invited. The Coastal Bend Sky PIrates are invited guests and we in turn invite all kite fliers to join us in making anothers life a little more blessed.

[Martinez] This is an AKA sanctioned competition. Dual-line, quad-line, fighters and kitemaking will be included. AKA and BASKL poits will be awarded. Pilots meeting at 10am.
 
         
[Gilroy and Los Banos] This is a fun day for families. Besides kite flying, there will be bubble blowing and pie eating contests, as well as trophy awards for best home-made kites. Plus there will be state parks tables to visit as well as a 'make your own kite free' table. The only fee is the $4 state park day use parking fee per car.
 
         
[Schenectady] This is a regular monthly NYKE fun fly, which moves to a number of venues. This one is held at the Niskayuna Soccer Complex in Schenectady, NY. As part of this fly we invite regional fighter kite fliers to attend and sharpen their skills. (no manja)

LibertyFest (OK)
[Edmond] This is an annual fun fly event that is part of the Fourth of July celebration held in Edmond, Oklahoma. There will be kite making, single line and dual line kite flying, team demos, buggying, ground displays, candy drops for the kids and a night fly on Saturday night. All kiters of every age are welcome. Bring your kite or buy one from a vender.
         
[Lincoln City] Let your kite carry away your worries at the 20th Annual Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival. This year’s theme is "Kaleidoscope of Color". Among the activities included are dual line kite demonstrations, a kite ballet exhibition, mass ascensions, and Rokkaku battles. Beginner and expert fliers are invited to participate and enjoy the show.
         
[Long Beach] Full sport kite competition, demo single line flyers w/large (and small) kites, open fly areas for spectators. This event has been running for almost 20 years at the same location as WSIKF.
         
[Yonkers] Kite festival in celebration of The Hudson River Museum artists kite exhibition. Demonstrations will include: stunt kites, fighter kites, kite making/flying workshops, music (Taiko Drumming).
[Kansasville] This is a club fun fly and kids kite workshop which is open to the general public to enjoy.

[MIlwaukee] Fireworks Kite Festival July 3, 2004. KSWI in Conjuction with Gift of Wings, US Bank and Clear Channel Communications will sponsor our annual Fireworks Kite Festival. Featuring the Giant Kites of Yves LaForest. This is a fun fly and all are welcome to participate. Our goal is to fill the sky with as many kites as possible. Times from 11:00 am until 6:30 PM, then 7:30 PM until the fireworks start at 9:25 pm. We have set aside a huge area of Veterans Park just for kitefliers. So fly a kite and get the best seats in the house for the greatest firworks show on Earth. Well...in my opinion, of course. Now understand that traffic and parking are a real mess for this event, so come early and don't plan on leaving until after the fireworks are finished at 10:15pm. In other words, plan your whole day in the park. It’s a blast...literally!!
