[Bourbonnais] 8th Annual Perry Farm Kite Festival
New Date: Saturday and Sunday, August 16 & 17th
That’s right folks, we have changed the date. This two day special event is jam packed with family fun activities. Returning to the Kite Festival is the Midwestern Kite Club, “Illinois Kite Enthusiasts” or “IKE” for short. If you are asking yourself, what is a Kite Festival then you need to come out for the weekend because you’ve never seen anything like this before. Watch professional kiters from all over the Midwest compete in a real American Kitefliers Association sanctioned kite competition. See kites bigger than a school bus flying in the air, make kites smaller than your hand, and even fly your own kite in our public flying field (yes, there will be a place to buy kites). We will even have a kite hospital, plus much more! New this year we will be hosting a Bean Bag Tournament to be held on Sunday. Don’t forget the concessions and the Bamboo Bounce House. So what are you waiting for, come out and enjoy a weekend in the park that you will not forget.
         
Summer Heat (WA)
[Ocean SHores] Cutting Edge Kites Summer Heat is a sport kite competition where some single liners show up to show off their wares which we greatly appreciate!!!. This is part of the NWSKLs competitive circuit and we often have our season ending awards dinner on Saturday evening.

Club members will bring side dishes to the home of Glen Sheets (email or call contact person for address/directions) where the club will provide hot dogs & hamburgers. Feeling a bit sleepy after the feast? Then head on over to the church to "fly off the fuzziness." The church is located on the south side of Kokomo.

[Callaway] Named by USA Today as a Top 10 venue, Callaway Kite Flight is on 200 acres of pastureland in the beautiful Sandhills region of Nebraska. Friendly residents have welcomed kite flyers from 22 states and 9 nations thus far, offering a picturesque site, home-made concessions, kite stores, camp sites, and evening entertainment. Don't miss this event where the Village of Callaway opens its arms and the skies are filled with kites from both professionals (with a pro flying zone) and amateurs.

Fliers from 22 states (and 9 nations) have flown in Callaway. We're inviting fliers from the remaining 28 states to join us! Email us for the list of guest states thus far.

[Two Rivers] The 3rd Annual Kites Over Lake Michigan will be held once again on Labor Day weekend at beautiful Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers. This festival gets bigger each year and we expect great crowds again, with the participation of such fliers like Barbara Meyer, the Bowdens, the Wagners, Paul Fieber, Jeff Hale, Larry and Kay Dat, the Killips, the Rymaszewskis, the Lauers, Al Sparling, Fire and Ice, O2, Zach Gordon, 180GO quad team and many others. There will be a night fly on 8/30/08, kite making for kids on 8/31/08 frpm 9am to 11am, kite exhibit at the Community House downtown and a host of fun activities on the beach each day from 11am to 4pm.
