We will have a kite store and concession as well as on the field parking. An auction at the indoor fly with proceeds going to American Diabetes Association. [Berkeley] The competition will consist of an AKA sanctioned American style fighter line touch and a skills competition if time permits.
[San Andreas] KITE FESTIVAL – Sunday, June 7. The San Andreas Merchants’ Association will present “Kites Over Calaveras” on Sunday, June 7 from 11:00 – 4:00, at the San Andreas Ball Park on Mountain Ranch Road.There will be kite-flying demonstrations, a candy drop, kite parade, booths, and tempting food and refreshments from our local non-profit organizations. Everyone is welcome to just bring their favorite kite and come on out and let ‘er fly. There’s no charge for admission and parking is free. So come out and enjoy “Kites Over Calaveras” Kite Festival. [Tallahassee] Art on a String: Asian Kites features hundreds of kites from all over Asia. From Sri Lankan Flying Peacocks to Pakistani fighters, this exhibition examines kites not only as art but as tools for history making.
         
[Fayetteville] This is a family fun fly. We have enough sponsors that we don't have to charge admission. We also are giving the Dermer Sled kite to all kids. We also have free ice cream for the kids as well as free snack cakes . We're expecting AKA kiters from MO, OK, KS, and AR. We were rained out twice in May. Hope all Region 8 kiters can make it.
         
[Worley] Nudist kite fly fun for all. If you have always wanted to enjoy outdoors without clothes, this is your opportunity. We are a family resort and have family values.
         
[Richland] Sanctioned competition for dual line, quad line, and fighter kites. The event will run Sat and Sun. Registration will begin at 9:30am with pilots meeting following immediately after. There is plenty of room for big kites and single line fun flying too.

On Friday night, we will be having a Night Kite Fly in conjunction with the Relay For Life event at the park site.

[Myrtle Beach] A fun fly to benefit Curing In Our Lifetime, a local breast cancer support group. 500 free kites will be given out to children 12 and younger. Seminars will be given by several manufacturers in the kiting industry.
         
[Swift Current, Saskatchewan] The skies over Swift Current will fill with an incredible array of kites of all sizes and colors throughout the two day SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival 2009. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to join in the fun. [Richmond] The 17th Annual Old Dominon Sport Kite Championships is one of the oldest sport kite competitions on the East Coast. It is an event "by the flyers for the flyers" with special attention paid to making sure that competitors get to experience some southern hospitality while competing.
         
[Los Angeles] Kites Over Silver Lake is a children’s kite festival. The children, construct and paint kites. The event brings families together for an afternoon of kite flying, a children’s art exhibit, kite painting contest, face painting, magic, music and food.
[Keene Valley] Fly a kite with Dad in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks! EBFA shares Marcy Field with a fabulous farmer's market for this annual Father's Day family event. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments and kites for sale.

[Oshkosh] LIVE AT PIONEER AIRPORT..OSHKOSH!! The Tour De Kites Continues …. EAA Wings on Strings Kite Festival is Sponsored by The EAA, The Kite Society of Wisconsin & Illinois, and Gift of Wings. This Kite Festival will be held at the EAA Airventure Museum in Oshkosh on Pioneer Airport. The times are from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, on June 20th, with the Grand Launch of 200 kites at noon. The event is FREE. Gift of Wings will be on sight selling all of your favorite kites, windsocks and Garden Spinners. When in town, visit the EAA Airventure Museum sometime during the day. Check out the new EAA Family museum plan now on sale at the EAA AirVenture Museum. [Brigantine] Three day fighter kite line touch competition with skills and Buka on Monday, the 22nd; open line touch on Tuesday, the 23rd; and an all bamboo challenge on the 24th.
   
[Sawyer] This will be a sanctioned kite competition and festival. We will be on the beach at the beautiful Warren Dunes State Park. Registration will begin Saturday morning PROMPTLY at 9:00am with pilots meeting PROMPTLY at 9:30am. We will be flying on a tight schedule for the festival crowd so please, please be on time.

[Lincoln City] Let your kite carry away your worries at the 25th Annual Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival, to be held June 27 and 28, 2009, at the D-River Wayside from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Beginner and expert fliers are invited to participate in the show and join in the fun. Featured fliers from throughout the United States and Canada will demonstrate their skills and share their works of art. This year’s theme is “Pacific Wonderland” and the kite flying demonstration line-up includes sport kite performances by Washington state’s Team 6th Sense, Al & Aaron Washington, International Team iQuad, Penny Lingenfelter, Amy & Connor Doran, and Lam Hoac. We are also featuring Carl Bragiel and Gary MacEachern. Both are a team on their own and fly 3 kites at once. And – to keep the skies as colorful as the performers – Phil and Barbara Burks, Rod and Cindy Thrall, and Al Sparling will fill the air with their own creatures and creations. As always, kid’s kite making and kid’s passports will guarantee fun for the entire family. The flying is never finer than in Lincoln City, Oregon, - voted as the best kite flying location in North America by Kitelines Magazine. Come fly or come escape in the viewing!

Harborfest (VA)
[Norfolk] Harborfest is a large celebration on the waterfront of Norfolk. Tall sailing ships from around the world are on display. It includes kids events and, this year, kite displays and demonstrations by the RAF.
       
[Milwaukee] Fireworks Kite Festival July 3, 2009... BOOM BOOM!KSWI in Conjuction with Gift of Wings, US Bank and Your Milwaukee County Parks..CountyParks.com, will sponsor our annual Fireworks Kite Festival. Featuring the Giant Kites of Yves LaForest. This is a fun fly and all are welcome to participate. Our goal is to fill the sky with as many kites as possible. Times from 11:00 am until 6:30 PM, then 7:30 PM until the fireworks start at 9:25 pm. We have set aside a huge area of Veterans Park just for kitefliers. So fly a kite and get the best seats in the house for the greatest firworks show on Earth. Well...in my opinion, of course. Now understand that traffic and parking are a real mess for this event, so come early and don't plan on leaving until after the fireworks are finished at 10:15pm. In other words, plan your whole day in the park. It's a blast.
WindFest (WV)
[Davis] A family fun fly event in the beautiful Canaan Valley, 3200 ft above sea level! Demonstrations of large show kites, dual-line and quad-line sport kites will be held along with kite making for the kids. Bring your own kite or purchase one on site. There will also be participatory events such as running of the bols and most unique kite that flies. Conditions permitting, there will be demonstrations of paragliding by local fliers. If you are a kite buggier, there is space available for buggying!Other attractions include artists and craftsmen from the Appalachian region on Saturday, as well as the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra on Sunday afternoon.
         
[Oregon] Since our monthly fun fly falls on the 4th of July this year, Maumee Bay SP is about the last place we want to be,( very crowded ) so we may change this months fly to another location. So stay tuned.
