[Cleveland] Cleveland International Kite Festival is set at beautiful Cleveland Metro Parks (Edgewater Park) on the southern shore of Lake Erie. CKF is two days of kite fun; kids kite making; solo, pairs, and team ballet; wind sprint kite racing for all age groups; fighter kite demos; mystery ballet open to all flyers; learn to fly; open areas for those that just want to fly a kite. This is OSEK’s 28th year for presenting the Cleveland Kite Festival. All invited free parking and no admission. Fun day in the park.

We will kick off the festival at noon with the Fast Track Grand Launch of, hopefully, 600 kites.

[San Francisco] First BASKL sport kite competition for the 2015 season. Register and pay entry fee on the day of the event. Competition starts at 10am.
[Denver] Our monthly fly for the Denver Metro area and Colorado. All are welcome to join us here every First Sunday, regardless of weather conditions. Please contact us to find out if there are any changes due to soccer or other kite festivals on a particular day.
         
[Ogunquit] The 16th Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites will be held on September 6th, 2014, on the Ogunquit Beach from 9am to 2pm. The Festival is part of a two week celebration of the Arts. Over 300 kites will be given away to kids to decorate and fly. All volunteers that help with set-up, kite decorating, or demonstrate any kite flying will receive a free Capriccio Kite Festival t-shirt and free parking. Come early, stay late, and help us decorate the skies with kites. Rain Date Sunday September 7th, 2014 from 9am to 2pm
 
[Callaway] Every Labor Day weekend since 1991, the village of Callaway, Nebraska, welcomes anyone and everyone to “Come Fly a Kite”! Professional and amateur kite fliers decorate the skies over the breathtakingly beautiful Nebraska
countryside. The event is sanctioned by the AKA (American
Kite fliers Association). Children and adults can enjoy the large colorful kites flown by our professional kite fliers. Visitors can bring their own kites or purchase a kite from one of our kite vendors. Admission is $2 per person, per
day. Children 3 and under are free. Parking is also free.
Concessions are available at the event and Callaway businesses will also be open. Bring a chair or blanket and plenty of sunscreen.
       
[Jackson] This kite festival runs 10a.m. to 4p.m. and is free and open to the public. There will be kids kite making, kids candy drop, bol races, scavenger hunt and more! The 180Go! precision kite flying team will be performing throughout the day and giant show kites will be coming in from 6 states in the region! Plus, beautiful art kites will be on display in the airport hangar - don’t miss it!
Don’t have a kite? No problem! Donovan’s Hobby of Sioux Falls will be on hand to sell a variety of kites. Concessions available through Pizza Ranch and music throughout the day to add to the fun and festivities.

[Gering] Bluff’s Breeze Kite Festival will be held in Gering, Nebraska, at Five Rock’s Amphitheater on Aug 30 and Sept 1, 2014 (closed on Aug 31). From 10 a.m. until dark both days. This is our secondnd annual event with kite vendors and food vendors. You will see single line, dual line, quad line kites and huge promo kites filling the skies. This is a free event. [Colby Kansas] MyWindStuff is hosting the 2nd annual kite festival in Colby Kansas this Saturday the 13th at the Colby High School, straight north of Walmart off of interstate I70 . You won’t miss this location. Last year was a huge success and rumor has it that this will be even bigger. Vendors will be on hand for kite sales or you are welcome to bring your own. Single line, dual line and quad line basics are always provided. This is a FREE event, bring your gazebos , lawn chairs and sunscreen. We start at 11am and run until dark. Sunday is scheduled as a makeup day in case of rain. Everyone is welcome!
         
RWRSKC 2014 (VA)
[Ashland] The Richmond Washington Regional Sport Kite Competition provides a laid-back educational competition for novice competitors to learn from and prepare for Eastern League and AKA competitions. it is a club event for the Richmond Air Force Kite Club.
RWRSKC 2014 will offer individual dual and multi line precision ballet disciplines. These disciplines will be divided into Novice and Open classes. The event is open to fliers of all ages. The number of competitors ranges from 10 (in a rain delayed event) to 19. We will also offer mentoring for novice fliers (dual and multi line) for one hour prior to the start of competition. Novice fliers are paired with an experienced flier to teach basic skills, landings, and maybe even some basic tricks.
Marc Conklin and Jack Wilson will serve as Safety Coordinators. There are power lines across a state highway which is parallel to the flying field. There are no issues with the Hanover County Airport.
In case of rain, 14 September has been scheduled.

[Nags Head] Kitty Hawk Kites holds the 28th Annual Outer Banks Stunt Kite Competition on September 27th-28th. Two days of competitive kite flying, team performances and kites dancing to music!
The Outer Banks Stunt Kite Competition holds several competitions throughout the weekend. Spectators are encouraged to watch the competitions. Kitty Hawk Kites will also give free stunt and power kite lessons for any spectator willing to learn!
