Alice Hayden did 3 kite seminars and kite building workshops with the different 1st Grade classes at Newbridge Road School in Bellmore, and then we all flew at lunch on the playground.  This was the only photo (kids lined up for their
flying lines to get attached to the bridles) I got to take before pandemonium broke loose (about 100 1st graders running about dragging & flying kites). But it was a great day.  The kids and teachers were happy.  Their NKM posters are now on the classroom walls.

Alice Hayden and her Dad joined the adult services group, with Advisor Fabienne, at the Roosevelt Cerbral Palsy Center to fly kites today.  The group having seen an AKA convention video was eager to fly.  Having CP causes spastically in the limbs and digits and sometimes we had to help them curl their fingers around the kite pole or reel so that they could fly the kites.  But they were eager to fly the kites which gave them a nice break from their normal routine. And some of them had the best smiles when they watched the kite they flew. The group decided to keep their Jackite Mallard for the classroom so that they could fly it again on picnics.   And their poster is proudly on their wall.

Kite Day in Central Park, Bensalem, Pa

John Rose and his beautiful Diamond.

Hank Klienot and Lee Kraft

Ouch, what a way to end a beautiful day. Sudden wind shifts and Genkis don't get along. We tried everything, even flying a full sized Double Parasled over it with a line on the flying line, what happened, the 10# flying line snapped.
