[Milwaukee] Fireworks Kite Festival - July 3, 2012..BOOM BOOM.. KSWI in conjunction with Gift of Wings, US Bank, and Your Milwaukee County Parks, www.CountyParks.com, will sponsor our annual Fireworks Kite Festival. Featuring the Giant Kites of Gift of Wings, this is a fun fly and all are welcome to participate. Our goal is to fill the sky with as many kites as possible. This is a FUN FLY, and we will be flying the Mega Kites of Gift of Wings. Times from 11:00 am until 6:30 PM, then 7:30 PM until the fireworks start at 9:25 pm. We have set aside a huge area of Veterans Park just for kitefliers. So fly a kite and get the best seats in the house for the greatest fireworks show on Earth. Well...in my opinion, of course. Now understand that traffic and parking are a real mess for this event, so come early and don't plan on leaving until after the fireworks are finished at 10:15pm. In other words, plan your whole day in the park. It’s a blast.

[Brookings] Since 1993, the Southern Oregon Kite Festival (SOKF)
has been one of the premier kite festivals in the United States, bringing some of the most well known kite fliers and kite makers to perform and display their creations for locals and tourists alike… This invitational event originated as the dream of kite hobbyist Steve O’Brien and as the creation of Larry and Lynn Goodman, former owners of KCRE radio station in Crescent City, California. In 2006, the kite festival became a non-profit organization managed by a dedicated group of community volunteers. – Free admission – Free parking – Free shuttle service – Free kids kite making – Delicious local food – Gifts and craft shops – Kite demonstrations – Kite auction banquet – Fun for all ages! Local vendors and artists set up their booths to provide great eats, treats, knick knacks and crafts… Located on the southern Oregon coast, Brookings also offers uncharacteristically good weather for the state, scenic rivers and forests, as well as a wealth of outdoor activities for families and individuals alike. |
