[Edmond] This is the sixteenth year for the LibertyFest KiteFest. It wil be held at Mitch Park in NW Edmond from 10:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2. All ages of kitefliers are welcome and all skill levels will be represented from the region. We are 1/2 mile from the nearest power line and over 10 miles from the nearest airport.
         
[Davis] Catch "wind" of this! Canaan Valley Resort will host Wind Fest, a celebration of wind-propelled devices of every shape and size. Events will include kite flying demonstrations and kite building workshops with Wings Over Washington. In addition, members of this organization will fly some of their own creations, including a 250-square foot Para-kite and an 80-foot lobster. Other activities will include a hang gliding competition, a concert by the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, arts and crafts and Canaan Valley’s famous barbeque.

[Neenah] July 4 Neenah Community Fest ­ Neenah, WI You are invited to attend the Neenah Community Fest at Riverside Park Neenah 1:00 - 4:00 pm Join us for kite flying, stunt kite performances, and kite making. We are scheduled on the Harbor side stage 1:00 - 4:00 pm. So if you are interested in performing--let me know and I can add you to the schedule. Please join us and bring your banners, kites, ground displays, etc. We will have a tent set up for kite making workshops with kids (I really need some help with this). Fireworks display in the evening. Please note that field space is limited, so short lines or ground displays may be better for this venue - depends on wind direction. Directions: Take Hwy 41 and exit on Main st in Neenah. Take Main street through town until you see the park, about 1 block before the street ends at the lake. Find a parking spot and walk towards the Marina. Look for the kites and banners.

[Olympic Valley] The 5th annual High Altitute Kite Festival has merged with our Annual Blues Party introducing the Soaring Kites and Blues Festival on Saturday July 8th at Squaw Valley USA’s High Camp, el. 8,200'. Take a trip up the scenic Cable Car and enjoy flying kites amongst the Sierra Nevada Peaks overlooking Lake Tahoe. Kid’s kite-making sessions, demonstrations and workshops. Live Blues music by Joe Louis Walker and the Boss Talkers supported by Jason Ricci and New Blood and local Dan Copeland. Noon-5pm. All concerts free with a cable car ticket. Details 530-583-6985.

[Oregon] Year 21, or so we think. This is the BIG ONE , the De Evolution of the kite festival, no big name guest and no competiton of any kind.

The NCSKG have been called the Woodstock of kite flying. So come out and enjoy 3 days of the most laid back kite festival you will ever attend.
         
[Kill Devil Hills] The 28th Annual Wright Kite Festival will be held July 15-16th at the Wright Brothers National Memorial. This is fun and educational event for all ages. Activities include: Kite making, contests, demonstrations by world renowned flyers, as well as history on the Wright Brothers and the first flight!
         
[Jersey City] 16th year for NJSKC, all AKA sport kite disciplines will be offered, tricks, fighters, and plenty of room for single liners to fly at one of the most specacular locations in the country.
         
[Brookings] Fun family event. Free to the public. Always held on the third weekend of the month. This festival is one of the most spectator friendly events in the country. The field is not huge allowing an up close and personal view for our spectators. 42 of the best flyers in the country have been invited to attend this year.
         
[Bismarck] Prairie Rose State Games is a multi-sport festival for North Dakota’s amateur atheletes. This will be the first time in the games' twenty-year history that kite flying will be included. Events include recreational flying, bol races, kite ballet, precision, and demonstrations. [Seattle] Fill the hill and the sky with kites, banners, and gound displays. This has been an annual event for many years. This year the date of the event has been adjusted in order to better accomodate other scheduled kite festivals in the area.

The annual Kite Roundup is headed to Southwestern WI

[Port Colborne, Ontario] The 14th Annual Canal Days Kite Festival will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lakeview Park in Port Colborne, ON. Come and see some of the finest kites in North America flown by local and visiting kitefliers from visiting Canadian, American Kite Clubs. The Kite festival is part of the Canal Days Festival to celebrate Port Colborne’s maritime heritage in Great Lakes shipping and our connection to the Welland Canal. The full festival now includes activities along historic West Street by the Welland Canal, ship tours, entertainment, an arts festival, children’s events, an auto show, and the Kite Festival. Over 80,000 visitors annually attend the events during the four days that the festival runs.
