Description:
The 14th Annual Canal Days Kite Festival will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lakeview Park in Port Colborne, ON. Come and see some of the finest kites in North America flown by local and visiting kitefliers from visiting Canadian, American Kite Clubs. The Kite festival is part of the Canal Days Festival to celebrate Port Colborne’s maritime heritage in Great Lakes shipping and our connection to the Welland Canal. The full festival now includes activities along historic West Street by the Welland Canal, ship tours, entertainment, an arts festival, children’s events, an auto show, and the Kite Festival. Over 80,000 visitors annually attend the events during the four days that the festival runs.

Directions:
Port Colborne is 1/2 hour west of the U.S.A. border crossing in Buffalo NY, located on the north shore of Lake Erie. The park is at the south end of Elm Street.
Comments:
Saturday evening, August 5th, there is a night fly with a large public attendance.
Monday August 7th (Canadian Civic Holiday), the NWKA runs a kid kitemaking workshop at the park.
