Hundreds of kites fill the sky at the 75th Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival. Thousands of spectators fill the park for this tradional single line competition. Sport kite demonstrations throughout the day and displays of monster kites. NO admission fee. No fee to compete - all competing kites must be home made. Handsome trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Events have adult and youth categories. All proceeds from concesions sales benefit programs to prevent child abuse. Bring your kites and welcome the spring. BTW - March 2 is Texas Independence Day and what better place to be than the state capitol? Yee-haw!
