Description:
The 25th Annual Frank Mots Kite Festival will take to the skies on Saturday September 13th and Sunday September 14th in Veterans Park from 10:00 am until 7 pm. This kite festival is sponsored by the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois and The Gift of Wings Kite Shop. The main events will take place on Saturday with a free fly and more flying lessons taking place on Sunday. Featured performers include Chicago Fire, St. Elmos Fire, Mr. Kite, Mike Delfar, Jim Wirt, Josh and Zak Gordon, Yves LaForest and Anne Clement, Craig Wilson, and other surprise performers. Lolly Hadzicki from Revolution kites will be giving Rev lessons all days long. Contests include the Kids Mad Dash, the Adult candy drop, The largest and smallest kites, the youngest and oldest kite flyer, and the gallery of kites. Ronda Ronsman will sing the National anthem and the Grand launch will take place at noon. The espected attendence is 15,000 to 20,000 people. We expect 800 kites to launch all at the same time at noon. Come early and stay late. Plenty of free parking is available.
