Description:
Celebrate spring’s age old pastime of kite flying at Fountain Creek Nature Center’s first Kite and Wind Festival! Bring a kite, or reserve a spot in a kite making workshop, or purchase a kite at the event. Stunt kite demonstrations, kite exhibits, kid’s crafts, ongoing family kite flying and contests, and balloon animals for the kids will continue throughout the day. Scheduled talks will be given on kites, wind, weather, and space by kite flying experts, Don Markworth & Scott Skinner, Marty Venticinque of KRDO Channel 13, and Bob Joyce and Bryan DeBates of the Space Foundation. Kites, water, FCNC t-shirts and caps will be available for purchase. Bring your lunch and stay all day! Call for more details. ($4 per person). (RR for kite making workshops).

Directions:
From Colorado Springs follow I-25 South to Exit 132; go east on Highway 16 about seven-tenths of a mile to Highway 85/87; proceed south on Highway 85/87 for five-tenths of a mile to Cattail Marsh Road; turn west and follow the road to the Nature Center.
