Description:

This is the second annual event celebrating the opening of the Mineola Nature Preserve. There will be kites of all sorts, and a competition for kids home-made kites. Also, you'll meet story tellers and the creature teacher will bring along her very best critters for the kids. Several talks are lined up covering our interaction with the outdoors and nature. We will have many interesting things going on so come out and enjoy a day of kites, critters and fun. This event is hosted by The Friends of the Preserve, to benefit and educate on behalf of Mother Nature.

Directions:
From the Dallas area take Hwy 20 East towards Tyler. Exit at Hwy 69 and go north. Go thru Lindale and start looking for the signs. Just south of Mineola you will turn east onto the 564 loop. Go approx. 150 yds to FM 2724. Turn right and Preserve enterence will be 1.5 miles on right.
From Longview take Hwy 20 West. Near Tyler take the Hwy 69 exit north. Go thru LIndale and look for signs. Turn right at the 564 Loop and go approx. 150 yds. Turn right on FM 2724 and go 1.5 miles to the Preserve.
