Description:
The Marina International Festival of the Winds, now going into its ninth year, will be held over Mother’s Day weekend, May 10 and 11, 2008. The Board is also looking to continue to have FREE admission and lots of wind-related activities and fun for the whole family.
The Festival is a celebration of the wind and features kite flying, hang gliding, wind-related art and science projects, giant kite demonstrations, kite-making workshops, live music and entertainment, food and vendor booths, and a giant inflatable air park and climbing wall.
Events will be held Saturday from 10 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm at both Glorya Jean Tate Park and Marina State Beach in Marina, CA just off Highway 1 and Reservation Road on the Monterey Bay. Plan on coming early on Saturday morning for the Marina Volunteer Firefighters Pancake Breakfast at the Park from 7 to 10:30 am to be followed by the Opening Ceremonies. From 1 to 3 on Saturday everyone is invited to make kites for the Kite Competition to be held at 4 p.m.
We look forward to another great entertainment line-up this year. Please see the Event Schedule on our website www.marinafestival.com for updates and details as we get closer to the Festival.
