2-day kite festival with AKA-sanctioned sportkite competition. Kids' kitemaking, sportkite lessons, single-line activities, raffle tent, teddy-bear drop, indoor competition. Held on 4 grassy acres next to Puget Sound, this festival is very popular among Northwest kiters and the public. Generally light winds.

From south, take Mukilteo ferry to Clinton, go about 25 miles to left-hand turnoff for Pt. Townsend Ferry. Go 1/2 miles past the ferry terminal. Field is on your left.From north, take Hwy 20 over Deception Pass, go through Oak Harbor. At Coupeville light, turn right and go 3-4 miles south on Main which becomes Engle Road. Sportkite competition has registration fees. All else is free. Registration form is on the website. Early registration strongly recommended. Pre-order shirts and field lunches by September 1. Some shirts available onsite, but selection limited. Hot-dog stand at field.
