Description:
The 22nd FAMILY KITE FESTIVAL is scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd, and Sunday, May 24th, 2009, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. NOW 2 days long! Sponsored by B93.3,102.1 WLUM and WMCS Radio, Gift of Wings, and the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois. Featured performers include Chicago Fire, Josh and Zack Gordon, Charlie Sotich, Team Pegasus, Dan Newman, Paula Schenk, Paul Koepke, Mike Delfar and the kites of Yves LaForest and Jean Lemire. The Family Kite Festival will be held in Veterans Park from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am until 5 pm on Sunday. The festival is free with plenty of free parking. The Grand Launch of 500 kites will take place at noon. Rhonda Begos will sing the National Anthem. This event will be shown live on the Internet! Kites and food will be sold at the festival. Kick off your Spring with the FAMILY KITE FESTIVAL!

Milwaukee is: 1-1/2 hour drive from Madison(via I-94) 1-1/2 hour drive from Chicago (via I-90) 5-1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via I-94)BE AWARE THAT THE FREEWAY SYSTEM In DOWNTOWN MILWAUKEE IS COMPLETED. From the west, straight into Milwaukee and head to I-794 exit Lincoln Memorial drive! Easy!! From the South, exit at "Lakefront" exit, and East to the lake!! From the North, exit "Lakefront and then East to the Lake! Veterans Park is North of the freeway exit on Lincoln Memorial
