The Richmond Washington Regional Sport Kite Competition provides a laid-back educational competition for novice competitors to learn from and prepare for Eastern League and AKA competitions. RWRSKC 2012 will offer individual dual- and multi-line precision and ballet disciplines. These disciplines will be divided into Novice and Open classes. The event is open to fliers of all ages. The number of competitors ranges from 10 (in a rain delayed event) to 19. In 2011, 8 disciplines were offered. We will also offer a novice flying clinic for new fliers that will pair each novice with an expereinced flier to teach basic precision skills, landings, maybe even some basic tricks.Marc Conklin and Will Smoot will serve as Safety Coordinators. There are power lines across a state highway from the flying field. There is an easement between the highway and the lines. There are no issues with the Hanover County Airport. In case of rain on 15 September, a rain date of 16 September has been scheduled.
