Description:
students from stoughton public library will learn about the history of Blue Hill Observatory including the use of kites to study the upper atmosphere. They will also learn how to build their own kites. Kite fliers are encouraged to put kites in the sky around the observatory to entertain the students during their free time outside.

Directions:
Please call 617-696-0562 to make arrangements to drive up the service road. From the North:Take either Route 128/95 south or Route 93 south to the Route 138 exit in Canton (Exit 2). Follow Route 138 north approximately 1 mile north through one set of traffic lights to the Blue Hill Ski Area and Trailside Museum parking area on the right. Hiking trails lead to the summit of Great Blue Hill from these parking lots.From the South:Take Route 95 or Route 3 north to Route 93 to the Route 138 exit in Canton (Exit 2). Follow Route 138 north approximately 1 mile north through one set of traffic lights to the Blue Hill Ski Area and Trailside Museum parking area on the right. Hiking trails lead to the summit of Great Blue Hill from these parking lots.
Comments:
Kite fliers will be welcome to tour the Observatory after the students have finished at around 2:30 to 3.
