Everyone is welcome whether they fly a kite or just come to see the hundreds of kites in the air and enjoy a spring day in Austin’s crown jewel park.
Competition is for single line kites but every kind of kite is welcome. Categories include largest, smallest, highest angle, steadiest, most unusual and strongest pulling. All ages are eligible to compete in categories for youth and adults. See our web page for events and rules. Trophies are awarded to first, second and third place winners. The Oldest and youngest competitors win trophies too. Manufactured kites are not eligible for competition but hand crafted kites are welcome to compete.
