Fort Flagler

Location:
Fort Flagler
Marrowstone Island, WA US
Recommended By:
Bill Rogers
Directions:
After crossing the Hood Canal Bridge headed NW, follow the signs towards Port Townsend. Take a right at the stop light in Chimacum (Chevron on the right). At the next stop sign take a right (in Hadlock). Watch for the signs for Indian Island/Fort Flagler and take a left. Follow this road to it's end which dumps right into Fort Flagler. At the first stop sign in the park, take a left and follow this to the end.
Comments:
Fort Flagler is a great place to fly, especially during the summer when the wind is typically out of the NW. There is a big field open 180+ degrees to the water. If the wind is out of the East it is usually really bumpy, otherwise it is about as smooth as it can get away from the coast if the wind is from the NW.
