Large beach area to west (left) of pavillion. Crowded during daytime (summer) great place to fly at sunset. Chicago skyline is on horizon. Winds can be variable closer to dunes and trees. Beautiful place to try some nite flying. State Park has entrance fee for residence and out of state. Camp ground and nature center, nature walks, and programs through out the year. Bathrooms and facilities available. Park rangers usually kick you off the beach around 10-11pm. Careful about swimming, strong undertow at time
