Directions:
From Sarasota take Route 72 (Clark Rd.) west over the Stickney Point Bridge, right on Midnight Pass Road, left at the fork toward 'the village' onto Beach Road, left into the free public parking marked Sarasota County - Siesta Beach Park. Head left to the south end of the parking lot. Arrive before 10 AM in season.
Comments:
Usually a half dozen kiteflyers EVERY DAY in season (January through April) from 9 AM to 2 PM. Popular with the Sun Coast Kite Club on weekends. Best beach sand in North America. Gentle constant on-shore breezes. Kite flyers welcomed by the Parks Dept. at the 'big tree on the beach', south end of the public beach.
