[Corpus Christi] Kiteboarding competition.
[Seattle] Open to kitesurfing community, vendor gear display (no sales), no event or competition, music and bonfire, social event.
   
[Galesburg] The Kites Over Lake Storey is a two day event for all kite enthusiasts. The festival will interest all age groups in activites related to kite building and flying. Kites Over Lake Storey will be held in Galesburg Illinois May 31 and June 1, 2003.
         
[Mexico Beach] The G.E.C.K.O. Flyers are trying to incourage more folks to pick up a kite and come fly. This is a fun fly open to any and all who would like to participate. Spectators are welcome, flyers are wanted!!!

[Grand Haven] Join us as we paint the sky with colorful kites! This event is open to all and there is no charge to participate or watch. It’s a fun, relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon with the entire family! If you wish to park inside the State Park, there is a parking fee.
             
[Wildwood] Kick off the summer season at America’s largest kite festival - the event that features a lot of giant kites, incredible kite club displays, featured guests, night fly followed by fireworks, welcome barbecue, media kite day on Friday, kid’s and adult kite workshops, indoor kite shows, indoor kite flying competition, kite exhibits, fighter kites and rokkaku battles, kite boarding exhibitions, and kite buggy races and free wheeling fun. Plus, the largest sport kite competition in the US complete with judging seminar - the East Coast Stunt Kite Championships. Auction donations gladly accepted. Sponsorship opportunities available. This year - the Auction is on Saturday night with the Banquet on Sunday night.
           
Skydance (ND)
[Garrison] Skydance is a three day fun fly held on the shores of Lake Sakakawea. This is the 11th annual celebration of this event. Kid’s kite making, People’s Choice awards, buggy rides, free drawings, and participation ribbons are all included in the three day Party on the Prairie.
           
[San Ramon] This is a great annual festival combining an arts and crafts show with a huge kite show. Champion flyers from all over the west coast come and fly demos all day both days. There is plenty of room for all types of kites,big and small. Candy drops and kitemaking for the kids too.

[Topeka] Twisted Lines is a 3-day event starting Friday at 5pm till ? includes a night fly. Saturday and Sunday 10-4, competition, fun fly, demo’s, buggy races, innovative flying, impromtu competition and more.
       
[Boston] Boston’s sport kite championship When? Friday, Saturday & Sunday June 6, 7, and 8, 2003. Where? Millennium Park, Boston Registration: Friday, Saturday & Sunday Time? all weekend Activities: sport kite competitions, sport kite demonstrations, single line shows, kite surfing demos, bubble machines, raffles and loads of family fun. The park is accessible from the city via Rt 93., Rt 95 and Rt 128. The park is handicap accessible and provides full facilities for individuals. [Varennes] Vent D’Ékinox presents FreeFly 2003 june 7-8 ,2003 This event kicks off the 2003 summer season. Normand Girard (AKA member) and owner of Vent D'Ekinox (VDE) is happy to sponser the FreeFly 2003 event, Normand Girard will be the official AKA Chairperson for this event, the FQCV (AKA affiliated member,Federation Quebecoise du Cerf-Volant) will help out by supplying AKA members to provide the security requirements of the AKA for obtaining the AKA Sanctioned status and insurance required by the City of Varennes, Quebec, Canada. . By having a festival at the beginning of the summer, New fliers will have the opprotunity to meet up with the experienced ones, thus creating an evironment where the experienced fliers can pass on their knowledge. Its also a good time, to discuss the upcoming events, and make arrangements to attend them. The majority of One Line fliers in Quebec, build their own kites. So this festival is also a venue for exchanging information on all facets of kite design, construction and stimulates creativity. The FQCV will also organise a Rokakku and Fighterkite competition. The site which is approximately 2000' long and 500' wide, and will be divided into 3 fields, field orientation will depend on wind direction. field 1 is reserved for Vent D'Ekinox, for their Kite Demo tryouts field 2 and 3 will be used mainly for Free Flying, but field 3 will be reserved for Rokakku and Fighterkite competitions. [Muncie] The kite club members are guest of the AMA. AMA members will be flying model aircraft and kite members will be holding a fun fly. Just a time to unwind and enjoy. There are 1000+ acres to enjoy. Saturday flying at 09:00am - 05:00pm. Sunday flying at 10:00am - 03:00pm.
         
[BROWNSTOWN] This years MSKC will include Fighter kite, Individual and Team sport kite competitions including, kite ballet and precision flying for both dual line and quad line sport kites. Kite making classes will be available several times during the day on Saturday and Sunday, times will be announced though out the day. Learn to fly classes will run all day on Saturday and Sunday Single line and open sport kite flying will run all day Saturday and Sunday. Schedule is tentative and subject to change due to weather, number of flyers, etc
         
[Jamestown] The Jamestown Kite Fest is a two day fly with Sunday being a fun fly. There will be several activities throughout the day. We have concessions and restrooms on site as well. Saturday’s fly will be followed by a casual dinner at the teen center (Bunker). The dinner and teen center is sponsored by the Jamestown Parks and Rec Dept. The Bunker is also the location of the Kite Art exhibit. We also have reduced lodging at the Jamestown College, you will need to contact Mike Gee for rooms, 701-252-5611.
         
[ocean Shores] Sport Kite competitions, huge single line displays, kite making classes and kite flying for the whole family.
         
[Bethel Island] Bethel Island Kids ‘n Kites is a one day family event sponsored by the Bethel Island Municipal Advisory Council “Parks and Recreation Subcommittee”. The event is primarily designed for children new to kiting as an introduction to the sport. Funding for free “sled” kites for each child is obtained from various grants and donations from area businesses. The day begins at the community center where each child receives a free sled kite kit and assistance in building and decorating their kite. The always reliable Delta breezes (keep your fingers crossed) ensure an afternoon of smiles after a short walk to the flying field. Children are treated to refreshments, music and awards throughout the day thanks to a variety of local clubs and service organizations. An area of the field is roped off for the “big kids” who are encouraged to bring their sport kites for demonstration or show.
[Arvada] NARFF! is a group of kiting enthusiasts located in the greater Denver, CO area that get together for Fun Flys twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Sunday.

[Kill Devil Hills] The Wright Flight Centennial Kite Festival will be a spectacular three day event celebrating man’s first powered flight! Ther will be family activities: kite making, kite games and buggy rides. Exhibits: Kite Stamps, Miniature Kites, and Kite History displays. Demonstrations: Team Flying, Rok Battles, Art Kites, Contests: Box Kite Making, The Wrong Flyer Kite Making, Banner making, Best Ground Display. Each Day will have an opening ceremony celebrating Flag Day with a salute to the troops, a nod to Fathers Day, A TRibute to Francis Rogallo, Poetry contest winner, raising of the arch over the Wright Brother memorial. This is a one time only event that is shaping up to be a historic event in it’s own right.

[Milwaukee] The Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois and Gift of Wings present the 12 annual Fireworks Kite Festival in Veterans Park on July 3, 2003. This event will be a free fly with nearly 300,000 spectators on hand. The event starts at 12 noon until 6 PM. Come early as parking is at a premium.
