There will be a children’s kite making workshop before the town’s festivities begin, which include a children’s pedal-tractor pull and parade.
[Port Colborne, Ontario] The 14th Annual Canal Days Kite Festival will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lakeview Park in Port Colborne, ON. Come and see some of the finest kites in North America flown by local and visiting kitefliers from visiting Canadian, American Kite Clubs. The Kite festival is part of the Canal Days Festival to celebrate Port Colborne’s maritime heritage in Great Lakes shipping and our connection to the Welland Canal. The full festival now includes activities along historic West Street by the Welland Canal, ship tours, entertainment, an arts festival, children’s events, an auto show, and the Kite Festival. Over 80,000 visitors annually attend the events during the four days that the festival runs.

[Glencoe] A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE!! Chicago Botanic Garden..August 12 & 13th! KSWI in partnership with Gift of Wings and the Chicago Botanic Garden presents our Second Annual Kite Festival at the Garden, Featuring The Chicago Fire, Josh and Zak Gordon, Dan Newman, Mike Delfar, Ann Vondriska Brinnehl, and Paul Koepke and Kathy Brinnehl. Featuring performances from Fire and Ice, and Somthing Old, Something new. A highlite of the weekend will be Charlie Sotich and his kite making workshop for the kids of Chicago. The festival will be located in a relatively small flying field, West of the main entrance. Kite flyers will have one nice area to fly during this event. The times are 10:00 am noon until 5:00 pm each day. The gardens were voted as the third best attraction in the Chicagoland area, so plan to spend the entire day flying kites and visiting this beautiful Park. This is our second annual event and we want to make a very good impression. Their is a small parking fee. This is another wonderful kite flying event brought to you by the Kite Society of Wisconsin & Illinois, and your friends at Gift of Wings.....Watch for more events coming soon to the Chicagoland area . RØMØ - Denmark (Denmark)
[Lakolk] Starting in 1989 and now becoming the second biggest kiteevent in Denmark - but the biggest counting the visitors.
         
[West Magic] This event is a fun fly for all types of kiting. There will be Kite buggying and landboarding. Fighter kites, sports kites, single line kites. All are welcome. This event should be the largest show kite ascension in the Idaho Intermountain region this year. Several sq miles of dry lake bed make up the venue. There is plenty of camping and a wonderful pub that over looks the lake.

[Two Rivers] Inaugural kite festival featuring the kite collections of many invited fliers like the Gombergs, Bowdens, Rymaszewskis, Wagners, Jeff Hale, Kathy Brinnehl and Paul Koepke and many others.
